After 8 races in 7 different countries, the 11th season of the King of Europe Drift ProSeries would come to an end at the driver and fan favourite, Slovakia Ring circuit. With four drivers still in with a chance of taking the final podium spot and with over 80 drivers competing throughout the weekend, there was a lot of competition for the top spot!
“Drift King” Keiichi Tsuchiya had joined the KOE team as a guest judge for the final round. Having taken part in the King of Asia series previously in the year, it would be the first time for the Drifting legend to appear as a judge on European soil. Fans were queuing up in their masses to get the autograph of the drift icon, and he undoubtedly left a lasting impression on them.
After some fantastic high speed driving and extremely close battles, it would be Bartosz Stolarski who would take the winning spot on the podium after a flawless performance throughout the weekend. Conti would show that he was ever-improving in his newly built GTR R35-powered RPS13 by taking second place and narrowly missing out on the winning spot.
It would leave BMW M5 driver Norbert Kovacik to take his first ever King of Europe title after a consistent number of results throughout the season. King of Touge winner Szilveszter Gyorgy would take second place with Adam Frank taking third.
It’s been an absolutely incredible year following this series from start to finish, and I can only hope that next year will be even bigger and better for both myself and the series!
